You know, after seeing this, it actually dispelled alot of my
reservations, to the point where I think I'll try it when it
launches. It's like.. pretty asian warcraft. If anything, it
might make a nice stopgap while waiting for Final Fantasy 14.
It seems like if WoW and Lineage had a baby, and that baby was
raised by capcom's 'monster hunter' franchise, this would be
that baby.
What about you guys? try it? or pass? |

went and did! It's a fucking sci-fi, squad based, group player vers.

It's yet another installment of:
THINGS I SWORE I'D NEVER DO
- and other Everquest adventures -
There are alot of things I tell myself i will never, ever do, yet
for whichever reason, with few exceptions, I usually end up doing
them anyway. Like eating scorpions. Or playing Everquest.
I never played Everquest anything. When it came out, I had sporadic
internet/computer access, which revented me from ever really trying
it. Alot of my opinon toward the franchise comes from a combination
of heresay, ire, & 3rd party personal opinions. much to my chagrin,
I've let these opinions color my view of something which potentially
is amazing. So lately, after talking to people that actually play it,
I figured what the hell, I might as well give it a shot so I can make
up my own damn mind. the trial is free, and if I hate it, I hate it.
Surprise, my views are unfounded, & I kind of love it alot actually.
So, in light of this, keeping myself open, I kicked all the tires &
fiddled with all the bells & whistles. The result is this post.
( So Here are 5 things I swore up and down that I would never, ever do. )
Alternately, if you don't give a shit, you can watch this. It's a good approximation.

| Evercrack: a Noob's Perspective |

Since I recently scalped Amy away from her long-time love affair with
Everquest2, and having never played EQ2 or for that mater, EQ1 (I had
a life during that time period, lol. WHAT HAPPENED!?), I decided I'd
go on an adventure and see the other game that people talk about all
the time, yet I have no personal experience with. I've heard alot of
people say things like "Oh my god that game sucks!" but I like to be
the one to judge for myself.
Thank god for free 2 week trials. A night of absurd MMO gaming ensued.

This is a sad month for the WoW Hunters. This is also

I've been reading this guy for almost as long as
I've been playing WOW. He was one of the hunter
community's top proponents for "how not to be a
noob hunter", and a bang up, hilarious guy to boot.
He will be missed, for sure. |

| My terrible luck with FPSs |

So G taught me how to play Left 4 Dead. I suck really really bad,
but I love it. I've gotten tank slayer and witch hunter a few
times. Pretty fun.
But what the heck is up with the absolutely rediculous level of
shitbaggery that goes on in PUG teams? Everytime I watch G play,
she ends up with these amazing teams(or at the very least halfway
serious players), yet everytime I sign on I am paired with the
biggest douchbags.
People who run around and set off car alarms, or aggro the witch,
or try to kill you when you're down, or set the rest of the team
on fire.
It's like.. almost every game for me. Do I just have rotten luck?
Is it because I'm playing late at night? or what? |

Tonight was furrrrtastic, A word I promise never to use again.
G & Creature bought some goat and rubbed it in red peppers and curry powder and boiled goat bones in tomato sauce and other horrible things that probably sound delicious to everyone else. They made puddin pies which I couldn't eat and salad that they covered in cheese (while asking me if I wanted any, lawl). the also bought some barbary bread(had eggs) but SCORE, the also bought some naan. Oh well, leftover fruit curry for meeee!
We made some longrain rice cooked in thai veggie stock and lemon juice(YUM), and I pan seared the naan with olive oil and the brushed with soy butter and lemon juice. Holla! it was delicious. Kaji and his friend Alabaster(sp?) both showed up and we consumed this bountiful feast. Then kajidoh showed me a video of a model falling over being laughed at by some news anchor, and I showed everyone a fabulous video of james brown drunk off his ass on CNN.
Not long after they all had to depart, and G showed me how to play Left4dead. It's very fun, and I'm not very good(the last FPS I played was team fortress, and that was aaaaages ago). Ran into rusty and he and I shot some baby in the face and kept pushing him out of the safe room. while this was going on I laughed so hard that I got a cramp.
ow. now everytime I cough it hurts.
I just tried pvp, and despite vomitting on people correctly I was told that I sucked and was booted from the game OH WELL SORRY.
I'm drunk on wine.
how is it 2am!? where did the time go?? man what?
Also: downloading the 'Warhammer: Age of Reckoning' free trial. yeah yeah yeah, I'M WELL AWARE THAT IT SUCKS but I need to witness this suckage firsthand. I'm going to make a WHITE LION because I'm dumb like that and I have to play a ranger in every game I play.
I think it's the only way you can ever get me to play an elf.

I am playing FFXI again.
I'm a Mithran Monk on Seraph Server with Kajidoh, my future ex-husband. I was thinking of using something lewd in japanese as my name, like my ill-fated rape-themed shaman, 'DAMEDAYO', but kept it plain and simple and stuck with Mirabem.
I'm very unoriginal and boring. Sue me.
Thankfully, unlike the last time I played it on my outdated computer, this time around I am actually playing it on a nice/new machine, so the game looks stunningly pretty. I can rock out maximum graphic settings with about 60 FPS. I'm surprised just how good it actually looks. Real-time shadows, the works. I don't remember if they had this like 3 years ago or not. But I digress. This is all fine and good.
( However, I am having some problems... )
BUT I SHALL ADAPT!! Adventure Awaits
EDIT: maybe not. So for real, how the fuck do I give this NPC my adventurer coupon. Jesus christ, I hit trade, target the npc, and it magically becomes unselectable.
I'mma find that little Galkan kid and punch him in the mouth...
