[Oct. 4th, 2009|11:25 pm] |

I'm typing this on the shitty guest laptop, because this morning I got the bluescreen of death. Apparently my harddrive is fubared.
the Zero key on this POS USB keyboard doesn't work. What!??!?
Compounding my mood, I totally ate some food that didn't agree with me, so I've been feeling like ass pretty much all day.

So today we had this plumber friend of the family come out because the toilet was all leaky in the bathroom. basically tells us that the internal mechanism and all the seals and parts are dry rotten and falling apart. so Jen buys a new toilet. Jen hates spending money.
So then they get to talking about the furnace and such, and he goes down to the basement to check it out. And lo and behold, apparently we were living unaware of the fact that our furnace was a death trap. Apparently, unknown to us, it had caught fire at on point, and the interior and the exterior ports were all scorched black. upon opening it up, we discovered that there was EXTENSIVE fire damage all throughout the system. If we'd had tried to run it this winter, we'd probably have burnt the house down.
So, the furnace is being 100% replaced, but it's costing us 4500$ including the toilet we spent like almost 5k today. Jen's pretty much taken to her bed to avoid screaming and yelling and generally being stressed out, which is her way of dealing with things.
When it rains... well, you know the adage. |

| FALL ANIME 2009: Kampfer |
[Oct. 2nd, 2009|11:03 am] |
ok so
You know how sometimes you do something, knowing full well ahead of time that it's going to be bad for you, yet you do it anyway? And then when you see that you were in fact right all along about the bad for you part, you lament about it afterwards?
Yeah. Lulled by the potential for cheesy yuri anime, and a sense of morbid curiosity mixed with late night boredom, I watched the first episode of Kampfer.
Rarely have I ever bourne witness to such an amazing train wreck piece of shit.
I wish I could just blame it on some utterly awful Fet-Eroge, and be all like "oh japan..." but no, no dear reader, it's based off some equally awful manga still in syndication somewhere. A fact the mackes my stomach do backflips. this show take awful and cliche to a whole new level. It almost has what it takes to reach LEGENDARY status in terms of terribad shows.
I know heather, you were right all along. |

| THIS IS AMAZING |

so, I saw this and my brain immediately went: FFFFFUUUUUUUUUCCCCCKKKK I've often tried to explain to people why I enjoy World of Warcraft so much, and just what the attraction is for me. Well, esteemed machinima creator Baron Soosdon has pretty much captured the purest essence of this attraction if glossy wtf amazing edited format. This, ladies & gentlemen, is possibly the very crux of my attraction to MMOs, and more specifically, WoW, in glorious film format.
-Raid Together, Die Alone-
Turn your speakers up, and set that shit at fullscreen. Say hello to fancy editing.

[May. 27th, 2009|09:12 am] |

news via Sankei:
"Kaoru Kurimoto, the critically acclaimed author of the worlds longest running single character book series, has died.
Kaoru Kurimoto, the pen-name for Sumiyo Imaoka, is responsible for the epic fantasy 'Guin Saga', a heroic fantasy story which spans 30 years and 126 volumes, and is credited as a major inspiration for the works of KentarÅ Miura(creator of 'Berserk'), among many others.
She was known for being incredibly prolific, her total lifetime works numbering well over 400 novels. She was considered an influential part of the 'New wave' of science fiction writers.
She was also (not widely) known to have played a major pioneering role in the modern 'yaoi' genre, with many of her works from the late 70's bringing exposure to a genre which had little to no representation or exposure at the time.
She had been undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer since 2007. She passed away yesterday at the age of 56." |

I just got into a fake argument that turned into a real argument over the fact that I couldn't remember how to make a transparent .gif in any program outside of photoshop. lol. pretty silly. but that's what I get for answering people with snark-ass humor, because that's how I respond to like.. everyone, since most people know I'm joking when i'm being like that. Gotta watch it with everyone else, apparently. ah well, lol.

| Deathknight binge post |
[Nov. 15th, 2008|11:08 pm] |
Some thoughts concerning 'Wrath of the Lich King'...
Death knights are the fucking bomb, without exception. I haven't even gone to northrend yet, i'm having so much fun leveling. Meet "Gothiclolita", my troll deathknight.
I'm a goddamn black, undead troll. Does it get any better?

( I'm about 4 bars from 60. i'd keep going, but... Sleep calls D: )
I'm going to catch a few winks, and I expect i'll see Kajidoh later this evening for some borean tundra action. Although truthfully, I kind of want to keep leveling my death knight. |
